Cheesy, herby pull-apart bread — bake it in the middle of the table and let everyone tear in.

Method

Step by step

    Divide thawed dough into walnut-sized pieces. Flatten each, place a cube of mozzarella in the centre and pinch to seal.

    Mix melted butter with garlic and herbs. Dip each ball in the garlic butter.

  3. 03

    Layer balls in a buttered 22 cm round or loaf tin, scattering cheddar between layers.

  4. 04

    Cover and prove 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 190 °C.

  5. 05

    Pour any remaining garlic butter over the top.

  6. 06

    Bake 28–32 minutes until deeply golden and the cheese is molten.

  7. 07

    Rest 5 minutes, then turn out and serve warm.

Baker's tip: Serve directly from the tin for the table — it stays warmer and looks beautiful.
